Following the success of providing a RIB repair system and lifesaving product in one compact safety device, Barton Marine has lowered the price of its legendary ClamSealT to £8.50 plus VAT.

Launched last year for any RIB or inflatable, including liferafts, to carry on board, the patented, innovative ClamSealT is a re-useable safety device that can be quickly inserted into any tear in a tube or fabric floor up to 90mm (3.5 inches).

The ClamSealT received the 2004 METS Design Award (DAME) in the Lifesaving Equipment and Safety category, as well as the NMMA Product Innovation Award, also in 2004.

Suitable for any inflatable product or fabric surface, the ClamSealT will instantly repair a tear in situ, even underwater. This means that an inflatable can now be repaired offshore and returned safely without assistance. As no adhesives or tape are necessary the tear can be wet or even under the waterline and still be reliably repaired with the ClamSealT.

Hand tighten the nut is all that is needed before reinflating the tube for an instant repair, which can actually last indefinitely before a permanent repair need be carried out. The quality of the fabric creates a viable washer and when repairing a tube, the air pressure will actually assist in effecting the seal. The robust material and engineered design ensures the ClamSealT can withstand some rough treatment too and importantly it can be used again and again if necessary.

There are just four parts of the ClamSealT. The back plate, which seals from the inside of the tube, the front plate which covers the outside, the lanyard which pulls the two elements together and a nut which finally clams them tight. All parts are permanently held together with the lanyard so no single part can be lost in the bilge or over the side.
