Barton Sales Manager Christian Brewer crossed the pond recently to attend the Annapolis Sail Boat Show and to help man the Barton Stand, set up and ably supported by Ocean Marketing’s Chris Beaudry, Jeff Cox, Jim Wallis and Linda Frink.
The Show is held in the town’s historic dock; sailboats are displayed for five days then the dock is completely cleared ready for the powerboat show held immediately afterwards. Visitors fly in from all over the USA and even from as far away as Canada to see the latest yacht designs and boat fittings. Barton Marine was well represented by Defender, Sail Care and Bacon Sails, where customers could collect or place their orders at the show.
Barton has found a strong niche market for its small and medium snatch blocks, mainsail and rope handling kits and T Track accessories, which are compatible with nearly all types of T Track, a system which originated in the USA. A complete range of Barton products are warehoused in Guildford, Connecticut ready for shipment to distributors and dealers throughout the USA.
Spotted in the dock was a Cornish Crabbers Shrimper, resplendent in green and fully kitted with Barton hardware, the design is ideally suited to the gentle cruising grounds in the Chesapeake Bay. Boomstruts were also to be found on the French-built Tofinou 8m and the J/80 one design class.
