Barton Marine employee David Hawkins is aiming for Gold in Rio in 2016. David is the mainsheet trimmer and tactician for 2013 World Blind Sailing champion Lucy Hodges. David is an amputee who sports a very high tech lower limb, which qualifies him to sail the Paralympic Sonar class, sailed by three disabled sailors who qualify on a points system. They are currently seeking a permanent third crew member slot as they aim for the Sail for Gold regatta, held in June. In their first ranking regatta this year they secured second place; the next one is in April.
