Whitstable Yacht Club and Barton Marine are investing in the next generation of sailors by supporting cadet events during school holidays.
Budding sailors will have the chance to experience the joys and challenges of sailing in their local area with the oversite and the skill of expert sailors from Whitstable Yacht Club. WYC CadetFest takes place from 21 – 25 August 2017 and will feature joint activities with guest cadets from Herne Bay SC. The aim is to provide young Whitstable Yacht Club members with a chance to sail safely and have fun throughout the week. Barton Marine will provide prizes for the cadets taking part throughout the week and supply memorable keepsakes for all attendees. Young sailors will also have the chance to gain insight into the marine industry on a “behind the scenes” tour of the Barton HQ and factory.
Fef Griffin, Cadet Committee Member at Whitstable Yacht Club, comments on the sponsorship, saying, “The support of Barton Marine raises exciting possibilities for our inaugural Cadetfest – a week-long festival of sailing activities on and off the water. Whitstable Yacht Club Cadets are proud to be associated with such a long-established local company that produces excellent sailing equipment and we appreciate the support from Barton Marine thus far.”
Suzanne Blaustone, Chief Executive of Barton Marine, comments, “Barton Marine has a keen interest in encouraging young people to get out on the water and try sailing. By supporting initiatives like the Whitstable Yacht Club Cadetfest, we hope that more people will enjoy and take up the sport. Here’s to a great week of sailing and fun for everyone involved!”
