METS Report: Marine Equipment Trade Show – the biggest and best in the marine industry!
We are pleased to report from Barton’s view at our new METSTRADE exhibition stand, the industry is healthy, growing and enthusiastic about the future… A view reported by many of our distributors worldwide. We consider METSTRADE to be the triathlon of marine events where our sales and production staff meet face to face with our distributors, boat builders, suppliers and the marine press to get an indication of the year ahead for sales, marketing and new trade opportunities in the global marketplace.
We launched our new product at the show: EasySplice – a simple tool that allows even a novice to become an expert rope splicer instantly. Some of our visitors knew immediately what the tool was for, while others had to get a quick lesson from Sales Manager, Rob Lyne. We expect this product to outsell competition due to its lightweight, balanced handle, multiple needles that are easy to fix in place and especially, its competitive retail pricing.
Barton’s new Industrial Block and Pulley range was also well received, and there were many discussions on how these pulleys could be sold to commercial marine accounts as well as general industrial companies who are lifting and moving product and equipment. This hard-wearing, easy to use snatch block/pulley is easy to load with line, and utilised rapidly when lifting or moving requirements arise.
Stealing most of the limelight however, was our Victory Blocks – the new wooden block line that is now in production and shipping globally. All of our wooden blocks provide high performance ball bearing technology making them an exceptional choice for racing sailors as well as enthusiasts who just want the best classic style available. METSTRADE gave us the opportunity to introduce the double and triple wooden blocks that enhance the range and create more opportunities for classic boat owners to complement their beloved boats. Beyond marine use – the wooden blocks are eyed by interior designers as a “must have” accessory for nautical and contemporary furnishings, furniture and window covering applications.
Our new concept for the Barton block range was well received by everyone and now the hard work to finalize and launch this program is our primary focus for METS next year!
Our new stand was well received providing a fresh and dynamic look for Barton and we were pleased to have the UK Ambassador to the Netherlands, Sir Geoffrey Adams, stop by to see us and our product line as one of the best examples of global marketing from a UK manufacturer.
